Timbi-Guard is not a pesticide - it is a wood primer that eliminates insect and fungi infestations

PREVENTING AND PROTECTING

"Do-it-Yourself"

_____________________________________

Timbi-Guard is a revolutionary wood coating with the unique capacity and attribtes that provides a non-hazardous, holistic solution to timber degration (decay or rot) caused by nemoatodes (fungi) and insect attacks, such as termites, borers, wood worm, etc.

Prevention by far outweighs cure, and this is where Timbi-Guard is different from other products on the market, being a multi-function wood primer and protector, whilst preventing damage and terminating existing damage, all in one. It keeps wood moist, preventing it from drying and splitting. Additionally, if it is finished off with a top coating, it will encapsulate the Timbi-Guard-coated wood and plaster surfaces, increasing the protection of the surfaces exposed to the exterior weather elements.

PRESERVATION

"Do-it-Yourself"

_________________________________________

           Timbi-Guard preservation qualities:

  • Protection against fungal decay (wood rot) and is effective against well over 2,000 species of fungi.
  • Reducing evaporation and breakdown of moisture and natural oils of timber
  • Reducing the ageing process significantly by inhibiting splitting and warping. Timber 'recognises'
  • Timbi-Guard as a kind of 'artificial sap' taking and holding the borates deep within timber (up to 50mm plus)
  • Timbi-Guard consists of a unique blend of borates immersed in an odourless and colourless liquid. Its main active constituent is a non-metallic mineral salt (a borate) - one of 109 elements that make up planet Earth. In nature, boron will often combine with oxygen and other elements - commonly called 'borates' to indirectly protect against insects without direct injection of poisonous or toxic elements.
  • Being non-biodegradable it will not break-down or lose strength over time and will continue working indefinitely when applied to either new or existing timbers.
  • Timbi-Guard is completely water-soluble, with a density of 1,16kg/L. It is non-flammable and non-toxic. (All equipment can be cleaned with soapy water).
  • Timbi-Guard has excellent flame-retardent properties.

TREATMENT - TERMINATION

"Do-it-Yourself"

____________________________________

Timbi-Guard is not a pesticide. It is a first in it's field, being a uniquely-developed environmentally friendly wood/concrete primer coating, which readily absorbs deep into timber (and concrete), without any leaching. It thereby creates a preventative barrier, preventing infestation of termite, wood borer, wood worm, carpet beetle, fungi(decay/rot) and more.

Timbi-Guard is a non-toxic colorless and odorless liquid, consisting of a unique secret blend of borates, of which Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate, is one. The active ingredients in Timbi-Guard do not decompose or vapourize like other pesticides do, ensuring life-long protection and preservation.

***Disodium octaborate tetrahydrate (DOT) and is a preservative that is EPA registered and meets the Standard #5 requirements of the American Wood Preservers Association.

APPLICATION HINTS

"Do-it-Yourself"

_____________________________________

Timbi-Guard is ready-to-use, and should not be ditluted. It dries to a invisible finish and does not leave stain marks.

No re-treatment required under normal environmental conditions. Timbi-Guard is a one life-long solution. It address the shortfall on other pesticide systems, as it provides the longevity abscent in these systems. It provides the base perimeter of internal structural timber with a fully compliant defense against termites.

**Timbi-guard will not loose effectiveness over time and will stay locked-in for the life of the substrate.

The application rate is 4m2 - 8 m2/L, depending on the smoothness of the substrate, wood or concrete. It is suitable for internal or external applications.

Timbi-Guard can safely be (even whilst building is inhabited):

  • sprayed on
  • brushed on
  • rolled on
  • applied in all weather conditions, wind, heat, cold, but not if substrate has been wet previously - if so, allow substrate to dry for 12-16 hours before application
  • Drill Into Infested Wood (Do-it-Yourself method, especially when treating wood borer an wood worm) -  Drill into the wood until you feel less resistance. This hollow area is usually where the termite galleries are. You will want to drill two to three holes for every metre along the centre of the wood you want to treat. Inject Timbi-Guard with a syringe, approximately 5ml into each hole.

Timbi-Guard should not be applied to:

  • pre-painted surfaces
  • framework that has been heavily rain-soaked, however, slightly damp/wet timber (no water pooling) is acceptable for application
  • over wiring/junction boxes or electrical fittings, glass (windows, glasses, etc) and metal surfaces, natural stone, aluminium, lacquered surfaces and floors, etc.

       All wood type applications:

  • A must use in coastal areas
  • Railings, Slats, recreational facilities and Parks
  • Jetties, platforms,
  • All domestic wood decks
  • Pergolas, Housing structures
  • Commercial wood applications
  • Trusses, beams, blocking, joists, studs, raffers, sill plates, wall plates, ceiling joists, floors, door frames, skirtings.

CONSTRUCTION HINTS

"Do-it-Yourself"

___________________________

Timbi-Guard is highly-effective when applied to concrete foundations at the beginning of a construction project (see details under Photo Information)

  • When construction timbers from suppliers are not treated, care must be taken to coat all sides of the constructed timber with Timbi-Guard in order to penetrate in-between the glued laminations, as well as on the outer faces of the timber.
  • Structural timbers are sprayed from a nozzle  angle of 15-20 degrees at 200 mm, with a pressure of 2-3 BAR or approx 40 PSI, on the required GRACO gun the "force setting" should be dialed in to the number 2. This low pressure ensures minimum loss of spray droplets and maximises the 'run off effect' (saturation of all timber sides), and quantity of product required to achieve maximum diffusion.
  • Light Organic Solvent Preservative (LOSP) treated timber products can be treated with Timbi-Guard
  • Concrete slabs are sprayed from a nozzle angel of 75 degress from 200 mm at a pressure of 2-3 BAR or 40 PSI approx. Product spread will be approx 300 mm wide on the concrete slab. Maximum product diffusion of up to 75 mm is achieved over many months of diffusion when applied within 15-20 hours of slab pour, however diffusion depth of up to 55 mm within 28 days after the slab has been poured. The treated area is unaffected by rain once the product has diffused into the substrate. Diffusion of the product reduces as a slab becomes older, resulting in a reduced diffusion depth of 10-15 mm if applied to a concrete slab 28 days and older.
